I’m proof-positive God can use anybody.

So, about me. I’m 29 years old and live in the greatest city in the world, Atlanta, GA.

My passions in order are, Jesus and His church (KINGDOM), commercial aviation (got sky miles for days), politics (promise not to bring it up unless you do first), and Drake (don’t even bother to @me).

Born in the Bay Area, California to Jamaican immigrant parents I never quite fit in. Middle school was especially rough as my father passed away and my mother and I relocated to the suburbs of Atlanta. My next few years were spent drinking, partying, lying, cheating, and addicted. It wasn’t until the tail end of my senior year of high school that I truly saw who God wanted to be in my life and surrendered to him. I’ve made mistakes since, but His grace is sufficient.

As it turns out I have a gift to lead, speak, write, and ask questions. I take any opportunity I’m given to exercise any of those gifts seriously. And I don’t take the anointing of God on my life in those areas for granted, as I try and cultivate a life that He has access to.

Camilo Buchanan first and foremost is loved by God. Out of that love he strives to use his talents to make much of the God who thought much of Him as a local church pastor, speaker, leader, podcaster and writer.

In 2013, Camilo cofounded The Real Movement, a thriving 501(c)3 college ministry, growing it to 5 campuses in the state of Georgia while serving as Executive Director until 2017. After resigning from in the Fall of 2017 he later served on the Board of Directors from 2020-2022.

In 2017, Camilo began preaching and was quickly recognized as a dynamic, engaging, and transformational communicator of God’s Word. He’s frequently invited to share at churches and conferences across the country to students and adults alike.

In the Fall of 2017, Camilo launched The Pass Down podcast for young leaders with a desire to serve in ministry. Interviewing some of the most influential thought leaders in the Church today including Travis Greene, Hannah Brencher, Ben Stuart, Dr. Dharius Daniels, and others. It boasts thousands of downloads every month and has been listened to all over the world. He now oversees the podcast as Executive Producer.

Today, Camilo serves as the Young Adult Ministry Leader at Passion City Church in Atlanta, GA. He enjoys spending his time pouring into students and leaders, writing content, traveling, and eating with friends & family, alongside his wife, Emily, and their puppy, Rummi.
